If you’re reading this blog post, then you probably use WordPress as a content management system (CMS) for your website.

A new version of WordPress is out. Automattic, the company behind WordPress, has just released version 4.0 of its popular CMS, which powers around 22% of the world’s websites.

WordPress 4.0 includes a number of improvements. What characterizes this particular upgrade is that it makes the whole experience of using WordPress more seamless.

This means you’ll be spending less time on WordPress because some things are just smoother and easier to use. Here is a short 2-minute video that quickly goes through the main new features in 4.0.

But why should I be aware of stuff like this?

The simple reason is that if you have a website, then you probably already appreciate the value of marketing your business online. Being aware of and taking action on details like this WordPress upgrade helps get you closer to achieving your business objectives.

What’s the difference between the guy that got his website hacked and the guy that didn’t? What’s the difference between the guy who has a website that brings in valuable leads and the guy whose website is nice, but useless? The difference is that people who pay attention to details have an edge.

Remember that it is very important to keep your WordPress up-to-date. You can see here why. For our clients we are handling the move from version 3.9.2 to version 4.0. If you need help with this, check out our maintenance programmes with which we help our clients maintain and improve their WordPress websites.

Have a great day! I’m off to check on some of those details.
