Six Sudanese intelligence agents were killed in clashes between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the city of Omdurman, north of the capital Khartoum, the Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday.

“Six of the best intelligence officers fell on the Omdurman axis,” the ministry said on its Facebook page.

Violent clashes continued on Wednesday between the army and the RSF in Omdurman, according to witnesses.

Both sides claimed on Tuesday that they had killed and injured hundreds of soldiers on the opposing side.

The Sudanese Doctors’ Union, for its part, said in a statement on Wednesday that “the old quarters of Omdurman and the Karari quarter were heavily bombarded with various types of heavy weapons, which caused many deaths and injuries”. .

Alnaw Hospital in Al-Thawra area needs surgical staff, emergency supplies and blood donations of all types, according to the union.

Sudan has been the scene of deadly clashes between the army and the RSF in Khartoum and elsewhere since April 15, which have left at least 3,000 dead and more than 6,000 injured, according to figures published by the Ministry of Health. .
