China’s Ministry of Public Security on Wednesday urged traffic management departments in flood-hit areas across the country to adopt measures to guarantee traffic services and help resume normal life.
In hard-hit areas of Beijing and Hebei Province, traffic management authorities are to establish temporary service centers for tasks such as motor vehicle registration, licensing and accident handling traffic, the ministry said, adding that efforts should be accelerated to restore the normal functioning of these services.
Due to a surge in demand for services such as replacing license plates and repairing damage to vehicles due to flooding, local traffic authorities need to optimize service procedures and prepare to extend working hours when necessary.
The damage claims center has been ordered to resume operations as soon as possible.
The ministry also urged local traffic authorities to promote the use of online platforms for services such as license plate replacement.
